Our Mission
Northeast India is a region in turmoil — politically, socially, economically, and spiritually. We meet it in two places: a classroom, and a local church.
More than 800 students receive a genuine education alongside daily Bible instruction — preparing them for work, for higher study, and for a life that knows Christ. The Bible is taught daily as Moral Science, and Jesus is proclaimed as the only God.
About the Academy
Sixteen pastors and evangelists across Manipur, the Myanmar border, Nepal, and West Bengal. Support frees them from outside work so they can give themselves to the churches they serve — many of them displaced, several rebuilding after fire.

Why We Are Here
Tongkam Singsit wanted a Christian school where tribal people could learn to read the Scriptures for themselves. He died before he saw it. In 1984 his children — Chong and his sister Phalkho — opened Shalom Academy with forty-eight students.
They had watched young people drift into drugs and alcohol, never even mindful of the Gospel, in a place where corruption had reached even the religious institutions. The name they chose was not incidental. Jehovah Shalom — the Lord is peace — in a region that has known very little of it.

Latest from the Field
Of 73 students who sat the Class X examination, 57 finished in First Division and 16 in Second Division — the strongest results in the school's history, achieved in the middle of an ongoing regional conflict.
The new dormitory made it possible. Students from distant villages boarded on campus for a five-month study camp, five hours of study each day on top of regular classes, beginning with quiet time and closing with evening devotions. Many came to know Christ there.

Monthly support for one national pastor and his family, so he can serve his congregation instead of farming to survive.
The next classroom and dormer building at the academy — which opens the school to students who live too far away to attend.
Teacher salaries, building repair, relief for displaced families, and Bibles and materials for the churches.
